FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Find answers to the most common questions about CNC machining, engineering design, automation, special-purpose machines and conveyor systems delivered by Nomatec.
Which industries do you deliver projects for?
We deliver projects for companies across many industrial sectors, including the machinery, automotive, energy, food, rail, agricultural, logistics, mining and heavy industries.
What does Nomatec do?
Nomatec specialises in metal machining, engineering design of technical solutions, production of machine components, conveyor systems, process automation and the construction of special-purpose machines.
Do you build custom solutions?
Yes. We design and build solutions tailored to a specific process, product or production line. We analyse every order individually from a technical and manufacturing perspective.
Do you handle both single parts and larger series?
Yes. We deliver single components, prototypes and short runs, as well as repeatable part production in line with the technical documentation.
What does the cooperation process look like?
We usually start by analysing your needs, technical documentation or a production problem. We then prepare a concept, a quote and a schedule, and once approved we move on to delivery.
What materials do you machine?
We work mainly with metals, including structural steel, stainless steel, aluminium and other engineering materials, depending on the project requirements.
Do you help optimise the design?
Yes. We can advise how to simplify a part, improve its functionality, reduce its manufacturing cost or adapt the design to production capabilities.
How do I get a quote?
Simply send us a technical drawing, a 3D model, a description of the part or the project assumptions. The more information we receive, the faster and more accurately we can prepare an offer.
Do you take on projects without finished documentation?
Yes. If the client does not have finished documentation, we can help prepare it based on a description, measurements, an existing part or technical assumptions.
Is ongoing production cooperation possible?
Yes. We work on individual orders as well as on long-term support for companies in production, upgrades, service and the development of technical solutions.
What is CNC machining?
CNC machining is the process of producing parts precisely using computer-controlled machines. It delivers repeatable parts with high accuracy and full compliance with the technical documentation.
What CNC services does Nomatec offer?
We offer CNC milling, CNC turning, machining of metal components, production of machine parts, technical components and parts made to a drawing or 3D model, among others.
What parts can you make?
We produce simple structural components as well as more complex machine parts, fixtures, adapters, housings, assembly components, production-line components and spare parts.
Do you make parts from a 3D model?
Yes. We can work from 3D models, technical drawings, CAD files or documentation supplied by the client.
What information is needed for a CNC machining quote?
Ideally send a technical drawing or 3D model, the material, the quantity, the required tolerances, the type of surface finish and your expected lead time.
Can you make a prototype before series production?
Yes. We can prepare a prototype or a first-off part for verification before launching larger production.
Do you make small series?
Yes. We deliver single components, short runs and larger production batches, depending on the client's needs.
Can you advise on the manufacturing technology?
Yes. During the design analysis stage we can propose solutions that make production easier, reduce cost or improve the durability of the part.
What tolerances can you achieve?
Tolerances depend on the material, the geometry of the part, the manufacturing technology and the project requirements. We assess them on a case-by-case basis from the technical documentation.
Do you offer finishing operations?
Yes. Depending on the project, we can propose a suitable surface finish, e.g. grinding, deburring, preparation for painting, anodising or other external processes.
How is the quality of finished parts controlled?
We check that the work complies with the technical documentation, the dimensions and the client's requirements. For projects that demand greater precision, we define the scope of inspection individually.
What is the lead time for CNC parts?
The lead time depends on the complexity of the part, material availability, the quantity and current production capacity. After analysing the documentation, we provide a realistic completion date.
Does Nomatec design parts and machines from scratch?
Yes. We can design a part, a subassembly, a workstation, a conveyor system or a special-purpose machine based on the client's needs.
Do you help upgrade existing solutions?
Yes. We analyse current technical solutions and propose changes that can improve the performance, safety, ergonomics or reliability of the process.
Do you produce technical documentation?
Yes. We can prepare the documentation needed for production, assembly or the further development of a project.
Can you reproduce a part from an existing component?
Yes. In many cases we can reproduce a worn or damaged part based on a sample, measurements and an analysis of that component's function.
Do you design solutions for a specific production line?
Yes. We design solutions tailored to the working conditions, the available space, the process parameters and the client's technological requirements.
What are special-purpose machines?
Special-purpose machines are devices designed for a specific production process that cannot be handled efficiently with standard, off-the-shelf solutions.
What special-purpose machines do you build?
We design and build machines, production workstations, auxiliary equipment, handling systems, assembly setups and solutions that support process automation.
Can a machine be matched to an existing process?
Yes. We design solutions so that they can work with existing machines, production lines or internal transport systems.
Do you handle only the design, or production as well?
We can take care of the design, the manufacture of components, assembly and commissioning of the solution. We agree the scope individually.
Do you help increase production efficiency?
Yes. The goal of many projects is to shorten operation times, reduce manual work, improve repeatability and cut the number of production errors.
Which processes can be automated?
Processes that can be automated include part transport, component feeding, sorting, positioning, assembly, inspection, packaging and repetitive manual tasks.
Is automation worthwhile for smaller companies?
Yes, but it always requires analysis. Sometimes even a simple workstation, conveyor or semi-automatic solution can significantly improve efficiency and reduce labour costs.
Do you design conveyor systems?
Yes. We design and build conveyor systems tailored to the type of product, the process, the space and the requirements of the plant.
Can you integrate a new solution with an existing line?
Yes. We can design a solution that works with your current machinery, taking into account the technical and organisational constraints of the plant.
Where do I start with process automation?
It is best to start by identifying the problem: a bottleneck, a repetitive task, a high error rate, transport that is too slow or a process that requires many operators. On that basis we can propose a solution concept.
